Medio Upgrade

October 21, 2017

Always looking for ways to improve the Cyclefest experience, we’re delighted to introduce another 9 miles of fully closed roads for our Medio Fondo entrants. The additional road closures take in the shallow climb from Brandywell Cottage as well as the stunning descent at Tholt-Y-Will – so now you can take those hairpin bends like a pro!

Our Medio Fondo proved a very popular addition to Cyclefest after its introduction in 2017. Aimed at those recreational riders who want to test themselves that little bit further, this 39-mile course follows the Gran Fondo before branching off at Brandywell Cottage and winding its way back to Milntown, with its promise of a well-earned cake and an early massage!

Boasting one of the island’s most challenging ascents – as well as one of its very best descents – the Medio offers many riders the perfect balance of effort and reward. And now it’s just got even better!

“Our medium distance Fondo was a big hit in 2017 and we are delighted to improve the experience further for 2018. With almost 90% of the course now taking part on closed roads, our Medio Fondo provides a fantastic cycling experience.”
